About The Reykjavik Walking Tour Small group

The Reykjavik Walking Tour Small Group is designed especially for those who wish to get a more personal touch to their day in Reykjavik. Famous landmarks are visited, history of the city is brought to life and you are introduced to local culture. The tour starts on the highest elevated point in town, is wheelchair accessible and all downhill, also ideal for children.

The small size of the group makes it flexible for stops indoors in cold weather and the lengthy tour makes it relaxed as if you are with a new Icelandic friend. The tour culminates with traditional lamb soup in a cozy authentic restaurant

Famous sites covered on this tour are the Parliament building, The Concert Hall Harpa, The Old Harbor, Hallgrímskirkja, lake Tjörnin and the City Hall. Along with plenty of non-touristy sites. Our guests are encouraged to visit the tower of Hallgrímskirkja before the start of the tour.

Furthermore, we visit an Iconic coffee house, a Christmas shop, a traditional restaurant and see the insides of the oldest theater in town. Due to long distances, we cannot cover the Sun Voyager sculpture, Höfði House, The Pearl and The Botanical Garden.

You’ll also see some of Reykjavík’s best hidden street art as we introduce you to local habits, do’s and dont’s. You’ll get the history of Iceland in a nutshell as well as recommendations on restaurants, bars and museums.

The idea is to lay the foundation for the ideal trip to Iceland or to wrap up a journey of a lifetime with answers to the questions that have arisen during your stay. By the end of the walk, you’ll have a local friend and you’ve felt like you’ve seen the city in a different light.

This Reykjavik walking tour is the perfect alternative for those looking to transform a city walk into a personal an exclusive Reykjavik experience.

Reviews

"VIP tour – the best experience!"

"Marteinn is an excellent guide and owner of the company. We did the tour with coffee and lamb stew. It was the best bargain in town with a 3 hour tour and food that was included that on its own cost more than the tour! He is so knowledgeable and loves sharing his knowledge. Whatever you do never tell him to “Þegiðu” – he has so much to say! "
