You're welcome to join us in this easy to understand technical camera and photography workshop breaking your camera system back down to basics. We’ll be exploring and using technical and visual examples of the uses and functions of your camera's shutter speed, f stop and ISO settings. This workshop provides an equal balance of technical information through powerpoint display as well as practical experience.
Once we have digested all the technical information we’ll be going out shooting within the local area putting what we have learned into practice. This workshop equips you with the skills you’ll need to go out shooting on your own and with a little practice you'll be shooting manually in no time.
If you've been thinking of treating yourself to a new camera or set of lenses you'll also get some advice on your best options. The first step in photography is to know and understand your equipment, its possibilities and its limitations. It can be tricky at first with all those dials, settings and strange f numbers.
This is a 100% hands on technical photography workshop and practical experience. Understand your camera controls, start feeling that connection with your camera and what is around you.

About the host
I’m an Irish multimedia artist working mainly with photography. I am an in-house artist at a local art gallery, having trained with a BA in audio visual media and an MA in art in the digital world. I bring a range of experience about the photographic medium having spent time interning with Magnum Photos New York, working in national and regional print media in Ireland, creating and producing group and solo exhibitions and running creative workshops. I have been teaching photography workshops and creating for many years. I am looking forward to helping you with your photography, no matter stage you're at.

Recommendations
Bring with you your fully charged camera (with manual if you have it). It is also a good idea to bring all the equipment that you have with you. If you have a tripod you can bring that too.
