About The Two Day Knitting Workshop
This advanced level two-day workshop is designed for individuals wanting to expand their knitting skills. Knitting time is daily from 9:00 am. until 5:00 pm. Everyone is welcome to continue knitting after 5:00 pm. or can choose to visit areas of interest.
Among participants, the most popular options to knit on a two-day workshop are a children size Icelandic sweater, a shawl, two-color mittens, two-color pair of socks, a cape, a yoke. These are just examples so it is really what you wish to do during the workshop days. You will learn a lot of things guaranteed :)
During the knitting workshop, you will also learn about Icelandic wool and the knitting culture that has developed since the time of the settlement. You will learn about the history of Icelandic knitting (íslenskt prjón) and its cultural importance tied to the differing patterns of the traditional Icelandic sweater (íslensk lopapeysa), widely known and has become a part of the Icelandic heritage despite it is only about sixty years old!

About the host
I´m an experienced knitter with over 40 years of experience. I am a qualified crafts teacher who enjoys teaching people new skills. I am also skilled in herbal dyeing, spinning yarn and basically anything and everything to do with wool.
My grandmother taught me sewing and embroidery when I was young and taught me to knit when I was 6 years old.
