About The Private Dinner, Music And Storytelling Experience
Welcome to our home. We invite you for a cultural journey through local cuisine, musical events and stories from Icelandic history and culture; a cultural experience in which you will be entertained by storytellers, musicians and expert chefs who all will create an unforgettable evening.
We offer our guests a selection of delightful Icelandic dishes presented in a unique and special manner. Only the freshest of fresh ingredients are used to create a wonderful encounter with Icelandic food, prepared and enjoyed in the comfort of a typical Icelandic home. Some dishes on the menu are ceviche with herbs and halibut, smoked auk with horseradish, arctic char with sorrel, salmon with chives, Cured lamb with blueberry sauce and freshly baked bread.
We still tell good stories, as the Norse and Celtic inhabitants of Iceland did over a thousand years ago, and invite special guests knowledgeable in traditional storytelling to our dinner event to build upon this tradition so you may hear it for yourself!
Music is a large part of Icelanders’ lives. In the company of some of Iceland’s finest musicians, guests will be taken along on a voyage that is historical and full of humour.
My family and I invite you into our home in Reykjavik to experience Icelandic culture through all your senses!

About the host
Food, culture and events are a passion of mine and they are part of my family’s every day life. I am former editorial director of Iceland's leading food and wine magazine, Gestgjafinn. I have derived great pleasure and inspiration from my travels abroad and from the opportunities I have had to visit people’s homes, enjoy their hospitality, taste new dishes, and take in the local atmosphere. My home is the stage for groups of 10-20 guests, but larger groups will be entertained in specific venues, carefully chosen to preserve the right atmosphere. In some cases, if desired, the venue could be nature itself, outdoor events during those glorious Icelandic summer sunlit nights.
