Every country has its own unique food culture and that includes cheese. The French, the British, the Italians, the Swiss, but ... what about the Icelandic people?
During our journey you will get to learn about and taste a range of Icelandic cheeses, and get to know all about Iceland’s amazing Skyr. You will also discover interesting facts about the uniqueness of the Icelandic dairy cow among many other fascinating things.
Delve into Iceland’s cheese history and discover what a cheesetastic future lies ahead for this nation of people who have the third-largest consumption of cheese in the world … and all the while having a lovely lunch in our fabulous cheese buttery.

When I saw that Creative Iceland offered a cheese tasting, I thought it was worth exploring. It certainly was. There seem to be many unique aspects of Iceland and the story of cheese (and skyr) is one of these. The cheese tasting, actually a cheese lunch (including other special food of the country) was an opportunity to learn much about the country. Eirny, the hostess, is very knowledgeable not only about cheese and skyr, but about her country. An all around learning experience and culinary delight.
